November 2022 Update
Happy Fall everyone!
I have exciting news to share with you all. Magnolia Place now has the testing system to test for the flu. This in-house procedure is going to be a tool used in order not to send our residents out to the doctor’s offices. Also, residents on hospice will benefit from this testing being that hospice does not provide this service. Flu season is beginning stronger than anticipated by the CDC so please, if you are not feeling well, then please do not visit. RSV, a respiratory infection, is also being reported by officials to be affecting not only the typical young child but older children and the elderly. Please wear a surgical or cloth mask while visiting to protect our residents. You may be contagious but not yet symptomatic.
I am inviting any family members of our community to join the Alzheimer’s Support Group that I facilitate at the Cairo library. We meet every second Thursday of the month at 10am.
Please let us know your plans for Thanksgiving Day for your resident. We need to plan our Thanksgiving meal. Please keep in mind all the respiratory illnesses going around! Use your discretion to keep your resident from catching one of these!
See you all soon,
Brande
