February Update 2026

Dear Magnolia Place Family and friends of  Bainbridge,

Goodbye, 2025- thank you for the memories. Happy New Year 2026!

Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Tonia Griner, “the new activities director/administrative assistant.”  With a positive outlook, I’m truly happy to become part of such a great family.  I look forward to contributing, learning, and growing together as we embark on new opportunities ahead.

During the month of January, we have celebrated several birthdays, both among our employees (Payton Bryan and Shantazia Davies) and resident (Jane King). Also, with much gratitude, we would like to thank our special visitors (Gentiva, God’s Chosen, and Grace Church) who took time to join us this month. We truly appreciate your time and support. 

Going into February, Valentine’s Day is just around the comer with love, kindness, and special treats.  May this month bring continued growth, collaboration, and moment of celebration. Here’s to a successful and heartwarming month ahead.

December Update 2025

Dear Magnolia Family and Friends,

As we transition from a season of giving thanks, let us carry that gratitude into December. We had many memorable experiences in November filled with lessons of Gratitude that we shall not forget!

As we do every month, we love to celebrate birthdays, and this King of the month is Mr. Phil. We also celebrated him along with Mr. Jimmy and Mr. Claude on Veterans Day for their courageous act of service for our Country!

November Update 2025

Dear Magnolia Family and Friends,

Goodbye October, Hello November! What a busy month we had! Our Residents enjoyedlistening to live music from the “Chosen” one morning, painted several pumpkins, decorated Halloween crafts, enjoyed Morningside Baptist church Youth, and even had a special visit from the BHS Anchor Club.

We also had a fun time celebrating Fall Spirit Week, where each day had a theme for that day, with Friday having Trick-or-Treaters stopping by! One of the best experiences was to visit the animals at the Redemptive Love Therapy Farm in Tallahassee, where we petted the animals and rode on a trolley! We wrapped up each day enjoying hymns on our beautiful porch reminiscing of the days before us.

As the Residents enjoyed this month, our staff took part in the Alzheimer’s Walk 2025 and enjoyed helping to one day find a cure for Alzheimer’s. So let us say goodbye to October, and as we enter November, let us remember to be thankful for the special friends and family we have!

October Update 2025

Dear Magnolia Family and Friends, Well, here we are, October! “Leaves are falling, Autumn is calling, and “Pumpkin and spice and everything nice.” As we leave the summer months behind us, we look forward to cooler crisp weather, coziness of a sweater, and falling leaves.

This past month was an exciting month as we kicked off with Family Night on September 9th hosted by Gentiva Hospice and Centerwell Home Health. The information was informative, and the BBQ was delicious!

As I personally welcomed and celebrated a new Son-n-law and new Grandson, the Residents also celebrated memories of their own with a special “trip” to Italy with a “wine and cheese” tasting hosted by Georgia Hospice. It was enjoyable watching them toasting each other in friendship!

We also this past month enjoyed arts and crafts, Bingo, exercising, and of course our walks outside. Come join your loved one with a brisk .2 mile walk around our facility.

As we wave goodbye to September, remember we are the only Memory Care facility in Bainbridge and are joining the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 25, 2025! Alzheimer’s and Dementia currently effect 55 million people worldwide and with the United States having over 7 million. Please help by registering as a team member or donate to walk as we support this incredible work of the Alzheimer’s Association.

So, farewell to September, hello October! “you are the doorway to the season that awakens my soul!”

September Update 2025

Dear Magnolia Place family and friends of Bainbridge,

“Fresh month, fresh attitude, welcome, September!”  With each falling leaf, September whispers: start again.  But not before we say goodbye to Summer with all its wonderful fun times and activities. 

During the month of August, we glistened in the Sun as we fanned the gnats and were busier than an August Bee!   We celebrated Birthdays, started a beginner crochet class, visited the Downtown Historic Museum, while enjoying regular activities, arts and crafts

One activity that our residents really enjoyed was being pampered by Ga. Hospice during a Spa Day.  The ladies relaxed, exfoliated, and lip plumped to the relaxing music.  Thank you, Niki, for this experience.

We were also treated to the beautiful hymns from the Band, Chosen, and the First Baptist Church Senior Adult Choir.  The residents always look forward to music where spirits are lifted and praise is followed.

Lastly, the staff of Magnolia Bainbridge were very excited to make along with our residents our first commercial.  It airs on channel 27 ABC, WTXL.  Check us out! We want to remind you of our family BBQ Night, September 9th @ 5:30.  Please don’t forget to RSVP.

As August slipped away into a moment of time, as we welcome in September, we will remember the memories written in sunshine and sweet laughter!

August Update 2025

Dear Magnolia Place Family and Friends,

What a wonderful month we had in July! The residents started the month off with BFMC Children’s Ministry singing their camp songs and shared an afternoon painting glass crosses. The residents also enjoyed a special activity with our Gentiva Hospice friend, Mrs. Bonnie Warren. Also, later in the month, Morningside Baptist Women’s Chorus put on a spectacular show for us as they sang one Wednesday evening.

We continued our month-long festivities by welcoming Summer with all its heat and gnats with our Annual Summer Bash Lua.

While the residents were busy with regular activities , our Marketing Director, Mrs. Pam Howell, and I were off to spread Magnolia Missions to SOWEGA Aging Council.

As we remember July 2025, we will embrace August, for it reminds us to cherish every golden moment of our lives . “In the quiet moments of August, find the strength to listen to your heart and follow your dreams.” “August is a time of reflection and growth, a reminder that every ending brings a new beginning.”

July Update 2025

Dear Friends and Family of Bainbridge Magnolia,

As May stepped aside with all its transformations and growths, we welcomed the hot, steamy month of June! With its own beauty, our Residents continued to enjoy our rocking chairs as they watched the birds and blooms change from Winter into Spring.

We welcomed the first day of Summer with open arms on the 20th with a fresh glass of lemonade while listening to old Gospel Hymns. I think the gnats were even humming along!

We also celebrated our Annual C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant) week with the theme, “We are Champions!” During this week, we honored our CNAs with a delicious BBQ lunch, snow cones, and several goody bags. Thank you to ALL our Hospice family for making our team feel special, Archbold, Ga. Hospice, Affinity, and Gentiva. Because of you, we made that week spectacular! We appreciate all you do!!
Last but not least, we honored and recognized our “Men of Magnolia with a delicious Jone’s smoked pork chop with all the trimmings on the 22nd. It was fit for our Kings, and we love you!

As we concluded this hot month, we were excited about being indoors as Christ United Methodist Church helped us make sea glass vases. I think the residents enjoyed the children as much as the activity! Thank you, UMC, for bringing smiles to Bainbridge Magnolia.

We enjoyed how Summer wrapped its arms around us like a warm blanket, but we are looking forward to July with all its Glory.

Craft Fun_

June Update 2025

Dear Magnolia family and friends,

The month of May came and went but not before it bloomed with full splendor of spring and uplifting energy. It left us with a month of colorful renewal, continued growth, and the heartwarming promise of sunny days ahead.

We indulged in the charm of May as we celebrated Mother’s Day. What a beautiful tribute to our mothers as we held our traditional Hat Luncheon and fabulous chicken salad. Thank you to Lacey Shepard as our speaker who spoke of what it means to be a Mother. 

We continued to celebrate the month with fun activities, elementary chorus and church serenades, Bingo with the youth, and picture Bingo with Bonnie from Gentiva Hospice. We also began a Pen Pal club and wrote to friends and family. 

Here’s to making the most of May and welcoming the beauty, warmth, and joy of the month of June which signifies the start of summer!

May Update 2025

Dear Magnolia family and friends,

I am “hopping “ to share with you all our activities that brought not only the Easter Bunny but family, faith, friendship, and new beginnings.  As we are reminded of the true meaning of Easter, our residents experienced many activities that had them being truly some special eggs!

Residents hopped right into the Easter season by visiting and speaking at our local Keenagers Program, hunting Easter eggs at our home, and having a movie day with Ga. Hospice, serenaded by Hitto Middle School Chorus, and even had the Easter Bunny visit our home one afternoon.

Our residents also enjoyed sweet Easter bags that were made by the First Graders from Jones-Wheat Elementary.  Thank you to the sponsors, First Port City Bank and Memory Card, LLC.

 Just as we thought the Easter Bunny had stolen the show, Normandy, a great white Pyrenees therapy dog, came to visit us as well.  Not only was he huge, but his kisses and licks were too!

Lastly, as we continued with exercising and activities, we added a devotion time twice a week to spend time with our Faith and friends.  This has truly been a great way for our residents to fellowship together.

As I reflect on this beautiful season, I cherish the true meaning of Easter,  which is hope, renewal, and the excitement of new beginnings.

April Update 2025

Dear Magnolia family and friends,

Once again, we wrapped up the month of March with lots of daily activities and welcomed in some nice porch weather. The residents and families may have noticed all our landscape changes as we were getting ready for our anticipated Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on March 26th.  It was a very special day for us at Magnolia Place in Bainbridge, and thank you to those who came out to support us. We also have additional flowers and something even for all the birds to enjoy in our beautiful courtyard. We plan as the nice spring weather moves in to serve dinner some in the new space, as you smell lavender and Tea Olives in the air.    

We, as always, thank each of our local Hospices not only for what they do for our residents but also for what they do for our staff!  Another thanks goes out to a special lady for keeping our sweet tooth full of her potato pies and yummy St Patrick’s Day cupcakes, Mrs. Joyce Jackson.  She has been so thoughtful, taking time to treat the residents and staff with her talents. Finally, thank you to Tim and his “gang” that serenaded us with sounds of the piano, violin, and laughter that brought back fond memories for each of us. 

As spring continues to bring wonderful weather, we invite you to come out to our home to enjoy rocking with us on the porch with hummingbirds that visit, or take a stroll through the shaded courtyard and the grounds. We would love to see you!

I wish all of you Blessings and look forward to what the Easter Bunny will be surprising us with as we welcome April’s spring flowers and showers.
